Come get recharged and reprogrammed while laughing your way to a different “perspective” on stress and the fast paced world we live in. Studies show that most of what we say everyday is to ourselves and the majority of that is negative. Recognizing and breaking this habit is the key to changing your attitude on life. Positive people have learned how to control their mind and reframe negative events.
To change your “attitude” you need to change your “perspective.” It starts with what we say to ourselves. Life is like an hour glass glued to the table…don’t let the sands of time run out with a bad perspective.
Dr. Gary Huckaby, Jr. presents a humorous look at the difficulty in accepting and dealing with the changes of today’s fast moving business environment. A combination of a flexible attitude and some tangible tools will better equip us to face the onslaught of changes and challenges we all inevitably face in both our personal and business lives.
Come learn how to live your life by the motto—“Blessed are the flexible…for they shall not be bent out of shape.”
How many great leaders do you know with poor interpersonal skills? How many supervisors or managers who have trouble getting along with employees are effective? Aren’t work groups who get along more productive? Studies show us that the most important trait a leader can possess is interpersonal skills. Our “attitude” and “perspective” influences our ability to lead and our relationships with others.
Come take a humorous look at how the lack of people skills affects people and in turn the organization. This award winning talk is guaranteed to get you closer to being the person your dog thinks you are.
Everyone dreams of having a stress free life where everything goes as planned, where we are crazy in love with our spouse, our careers are more than we could have hoped for, we look like we should be on the cover of Glamour or Men’s Health magazines, we don’t know what to do with all the money we make and our car bumper sticker proudly proclaims that our child is on the honor roll at his or her school.
Some people seemingly have found a way to make this happen. Come hear their secret as to how they are approaching life differently than most. It starts with changing your perspective on life which in turn will change your actions which will then change your results. It is easier than you think.
Most Executive Coaching meetings take place at the clients place of work. This format works well when compared with the cost of a client going off to a leadership program that may last a week with a possibly higher overall expense. Either you pay travel for your employee who is then out of the office or you pay travel for me and leave your personnel in place being productive.
For clients that typically involve more extensive travel such as air fare/hotel cost I usually stay and start with two intensive days, at 3-4 hours a day. I typically have a minimum of 2 follow up visits. This coaching can also be done via phone depending on your goals and objectives. We can make that decision after an introductory phone call.
Assessments
All clients receive a battery of assessments that typically contain the CPI 260, a 360 feedback survey and the Birkman or some other personality assessment. Dr. Huckaby sometimes adds other assessments based on the clients’ needs or wishes such as the LPI Leadership Practices Inventory or the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator). He often solicits a brief interview or summary paragraph from superiors as to what it is they would specifically like addressed with this client.
Follow Up
It is always beneficial to do a follow up meeting at 3 months and at about 6 months later. This really raises the retention rate and helps to stop the back sliding. Dr. Huckaby likes to do this in person but it can be by phone. Follow-up activities often include a review of all of the things a client intents to do differently. During the initial visit, Dr. Huckaby often has the client write down goals, and then he send them a copy of the goals 6 months later.
Clients get a 3 ring binder manual with their assessments inside. It has tabs separating them. It also contains some worksheets that identify their strengths and weaknesses. It also has a worksheet of an action plan. There is some leadership material included as well.
