Advising Financial Professionals and Their Clients on the Latest Ways to Plan for Extended Care

Wendy Boglioli brings professional versatility and captivating insight to audiences and clients across the country. A former top-grossing long term care broker and national LTC spokesperson, Wendy’s enthusiasm, knowledge and conversational ease leaves financial professionals, their clients and others thirsty for more. Her message encourages everyone to take a holistic approach to their financial and physical outlook while her riveting personal story resonates and persuades.

Drawing from her Olympic experience, personal care-giving story and a refined acumen from almost 2 decades working as a Long Term Care Planning specialist, Wendy’s powerful presentations are a call-to-action for clients and advisors alike. Her presentation, “Physically Strong and Financially Sound”, emphasizes the importance of having a long-term care strategy in place which includes the entire picture- physical, mental and financial health.

As a National LTC Spokesperson, Wendy was one of the most successful and requested LTC specialists in the country. She was among the very first to recognize the unique role that women play and her message empowered financial advisors to assist female clients in proactively planning for their futures. Her message targets the young and young-at-heart alike. Wendy has also advocated on Capitol Hill and Washington State’s legislature for LTC awareness and policy.

From the Olympics to Long Term Care Specialist
Wendy’s team won the only gold medal in the women’s swimming events in the 1976 Olympics. In doing so they beat the heavily favored, and systemically-doped East German team. Wendy’s relay race is still one of the most notable in Olympic history.

Before the Olympics, Wendy’s father had become ill. After the Olympics, Wendy’s father’s situation worsened, so Wendy began helping her family research nursing homes to prepare for her father‘s future needs. What Wendy found, among other things, was that the majority of the people in the homes were women – and that their savings had been depleted. Many had spent their lives caring for their loved ones, but now, in their time of need, there was no one available to care for them. And, for most of them, the cost of in-home care was prohibitive. Wendy immediately began educating families and businesses about the importance of planning for long-term care.

Wendy has proved to be an incredible asset in public policy advocacy.  Her knowledge, expertise and presentation skills come to the forefront in any setting.  Her athletic accomplishments open doors in such welcoming manner that actually led a US Congressional Committee Chairman to thank HER on behalf of the American people.

Wendy was a vital and eloquent contributor to our Olympic documentary project, The Last Gold. Our film features the stunning history she helped to make. The swim competition at the Montreal Games was fundamentally compromised by East Germany’s state-sponsored doping. Nonetheless, Wendy became a two-time medalist, setting American and World Records. In the final event, her blazing U.S. swim relay staged one of the greatest upsets in Olympic and sports history, defeating East Germany with a performance that superbly testifies to the power and possibility of perfect teamwork. As importantly, Wendy has long been a brave and steadfast advocate in the fight for clean sport. Her voice and her perspective remain as relevant and as essential as ever.

Wendy helps clients understand it is never too late to become more fit, mentally, physically and financially.  She uses her personal experience as very successful Olympic athlete, businesswoman, entrepreneur, caregiver and financial ltc planner.

Women are the primary caregivers in this country and the primary recipients of people needing care in the country. She works with consumers to better understand how and why being prepared today is critical, not only for ourselves, but our families and our communities for the future.

The financial industry has been trying to not only recruit women into the field of wealth management but help them understand why their voice as a women is so strongly suited for the insurance side of that business. This is geared toward recruiting and retaining female advisers.
